About

Welcome, if we’re being honest at the time of writing this I just about have no fucking clue what I’m doing. Sure I’ve written essays, stories, and the occasional good or bad review of something. But I’ve never once even considered making a blog before, nor at the time of writing this, do I think I’ll ever be any good at it. But if I didn’t go through with making it purely based on such reasons, what would that make of me?

Growing up in Northern California just outside of San Francisco I was always exposed to a multicultural environment. Particularly Asian culture though. And I specifically remember the first time I found an interest in said cultures. It was on a field trip to Chinatown in elementary school. Sure, it was the fake over touristy part, but I didn’t know that at the time. I was fascinated with the small buddha trinkets, fortune cookies, and cryptic mandarin written everywhere. Of course there was a level of disappointment later in my life when I was old enough to realize that five dollar buddha statues and fortune cookies which aren’t even Chinese wasn’t a real look into Chinese culture. But even though what I’d seen that day wasn’t exactly authentic, the curiosity it sparked stayed with me to this day. The same curiosity that would later lead me to travel the world, but this time in search of the authentic experiences I didn’t get that day.

The purpose of this blog is to help you in your travels, regardless of if you seek to have authentic or touristic experiences. As well as give you some general tips to help you become a more confident and prepared traveler. And hopefully do these things in an entertaining way. You can also find some memorable stories from my travels here.
